We provide free, all-ages art lessons at farmer's markets and community events. These engaging, hands-on lessons teach transferrable skills and sustainable practices while letting our guest artists flex their creative muscles.
Our stunning variety of handcrafted merchandise spans from unique home products to hand-bound journals and sketch books. All of our products are made by hand, on island, from materials sourced locally. The primary components of all merchandise are second-hand, discarded, or up cycled materials. Sourced locally of course!
By partnering with local creators, offering flexible employment options, and operating as a nonprofit we put our community at the center of all we do.
A maker at heart, Casey is an artist, author, illustrator, and former science teacher. She thrives on experimenting with every material she can get her hands on. As a natural teacher, she loves learning new skills and sharing them with others. She brings curiosity, humor, and a love of transformation to Whidbey Makery. She believes creativity is less about perfection and more about discovery.
Elizabeth “Izzie” Ashe is an educator and textile artist who brings her love of knitting, sewing, and mending into everything she does. With a background in early childhood education, she has a natural gift for teaching and creating. Her passion is creating hands-on experiences that connect people of all ages to the joy of making. At Whidbey Makery, Izzie combines her skills as a maker and teacher to weave together community, creativity, and sustainability.
Our community is at the heart of everything we do. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where artists of all backgrounds and skill levels can come together to learn and create.
Make more art with less waste! Whidbey Makery is here to prove you don't need expensive materials to make impactful art.
We love our island home! We want to bring jobs, apprenticeships, and skill development opportunities to our community.
